We’re dedicating a special salute to Saving Animals’ Volunteer Coordinator, Kathy Deffebach.  Kathy leaves our employment this month to continue managing foster home coordination for BARC’s adoption animals at the Pet Adoption Center in a volunteer capacity and to care for her new double-trouble two-legged children.

For over two years, Kathy recruited, trained, and coordinated volunteers, organized events, and worked tirelessly behind the scenes for every project imaginable.  Whether it was staffing an information table or cleaning-up after a fundraising event and safely packing auction items away into the wee hours of the morning, Kathy always has a smile on her face and manages to find the energy to keep the rest of us going.

Endless e-mails, phone calls, follow-ups and double checking, the part-time position she loved managed to consume more and more of her life.  Kathy was always the first to arrive, the last to leave, and carried out her duties with attention to every last detail.  We appreciate you Kathy!  Your shoes will be hard to fill!  Thank you for your dedication and best of luck in your new endeavors.  We know you are not far away!
